Owensboro – The Kentucky Long-Term Policy Research Center and the New Cities Foundation will meet in Owensboro, Kentucky this week to discuss issues surrounding homeland security in the U.S. Sylvia Lovely of the New Cities Foundation says the purpose of the meeting is to learn from other communities that have had to deal directly with security issues following the September 11th attacks. The Mayor of Washington, D.C. is among the scheduled speakers for Thursday's meeting in Owensboro.

Sylvia Lovely will be the interview guest during today's Midday Edition on Western's Public Radio. The Midday Edition is heard Monday through Friday at 11:30 AM central time, 12:30 PM eastern time.
