Pentagon Extends Persian Gulf Tours

By AP

Nashville,TN – About eleven hundred members of the Tennessee National Guard
and Air National Guard will stay in the Persian Gulf for a full year.
They are part of a group of about twenty thousand reservists who
will be in the Gulf for 12 months.

Tennessee's Adjutant General is criticizing the extension of the
tours of duty. Major General Gus Hargett says the military owes
it to its soldiers, families, and employers to provide "predictable
deployment time frames." There are about fourteen thousand
Guard members in Tennessee.
