Plans Moving Forward for Veterans Nursing Home in Hardin County

Construction of a new veterans nursing home in central Kentucky could start early next year. Veterans Affairs Commissioner Ken Lucas says bids for the 120-bed facility in Radcliff will be opened in January."If everything goes well, construction will begin in the spring of 2013 and be finished in the fall of 2015," says Lucas.

Funding for the project could be a problem though.  Lucas says $33 million in federal and state money has been committed for the nursing home, but the state architect estimates the cost at $36 million

The facility would serve veterans with skilled nursing and dementia-related needs.
