Possible Cause For Hopkins County Fire

By AP

Madisonville, Ky – A wood burning stove has become a suspect as authorities seek the cause of a fire in Hopkins County that killed two children and a teenager. Eight others were injured when flames broke out in the mobile home early Wednesday morning.
State trooper Stu Recke says the cause of the fire is under investigation and that foul play is not suspected.
Delphine Hart, a neighbor and family member, said she and her husband woke to a popping sound and stepped outside to see the mobile home on fire. She said that by the time she could dial 911, the trailer was engulfed in flames.
Investigators are looking at the possibility that a wood burning stove in the dining room, the family's only source of heat, may have started the blaze.
