Bowling Green, KY – The U-S Postal Service held a public meeting in Warren County to get comments on a proposal to move some mail processing operations from Bowling Green to Evansville and Nashville. Kentuckiana District Manager Jim Kiser says the Postal Service is looking for ways to increase the "economies of scale" and still maintain high service standards.

The Postal Service made a similar proposal last year, but eventually decided not to proceed with that plan. Some postal workers in the Warren County area say they are concerned about having to re-locate if the plan is adopted, and others say they aren't convinced the change would save money.

The final decision on the Area Mail Processing Feasibility Study isn't expected for several months. People who would like to submit a comment through the mail must do
so by February 16th. Comments will be accepted at the office of the Consumer Affairs Manager, Kentuckiana District, P.O. Box 31631, Louisville, KY. 40231-9631
