Presidential Debates Light Up Social Media

Twitter

If the past is any indication, Monday night's final presidential debate will saturate social media. Last week's face-off between President Obama and Mitt Romney generated more than 12 million comments on Facebook and Twitter.  In the past, debate watchers would sit through the entire 90-minute broadcast to hear post-debate analysis from a select group of television pundits.  Now, a much wider audience can react long before a debate concludes.  As Lisa Autry reports, social media has given rise to armchair pundits.

Lisa is a Scottsville native and WKU alum. She has worked in radio as a news reporter and anchor for 18 years. Prior to joining WKU Public Radio, she most recently worked at WHAS in Louisville and WLAC in Nashville. She has received numerous awards from the Associated Press, including Best Reporter in Kentucky. Many of her stories have been heard on NPR.
