Frankfort – The state of Kentucky will pay more than five hundred
thousand dollars in attorney fees to defend Governor
Fletcher's Administration in the on-going investigation
into personnel hiring practices.
That figure was disclosed during a meeting of the
General Assembly's Government Contract Review
Committee. That Committee estimates that the total
cost to taxpayers will be about 630 thousand dollars.
A special Grand Jury has indicted eight people on
misdemeanor charges relating to the investigation.
Governor Fletcher has repeatedly charged that the
investigation by Attorney General Greg Stumbo is
"politically motivated."
