Proposed Owensboro Casino Wins Approval

Owensboro, KY – Owensboro officials say a proposed $200 million downtown casino and entertainment complex would be another shot in the arm for the city's economy.

Yesterday, the idea was unanimously passed by the Downtown Owensboro Incoporated board of directors. Board Chairman Pat Strehl says he was suprised there was no opposition to the proposal.

The Board is calling on the Kentucky General Assembly to take appropriate legislative action to allow the citizens of Owensboro and Daviess County to chose whether or not to legalize casino gambling.
