PSC Wants Subpoenas Quashed

By AP

Frankfort, KY – The Public Service Commission wants a judge to quash subpoenas from attorney general Greg Stumbo in an invetsigation of a rate hike to two large electric utilities.
Stumbo has accused the commission of stonewalling.
In court papers filed, the commission said Stumbo jumped the gun in launching an investigation. It said he should ask for a re-hearing of the rate case for Kentucky Utilities and Louisville Gas and Electric since his office is involved in all rate cases as a representative of consumers.
Stumbo said the rate increase was excessive. It's worth $101.4 million a year to the jointly-owned utilities.
