Revenue Receipts Up In May

By AP

Frankfort, KY – State officials say receipts to Kentucky's general fund remained robust in May, well ahead of schedule to meet the fiscal year-end projection for June 30th.
The state budget office reports total receipts of $545 million for the month, an increase of 9.6% over the same month last year.
For the eleven months of the fiscal year, the total is 8.8% higher than a year ago. The official forecast for the fiscal year is for growth of 6.8%.
Budget director Brad Cowgill says the recipts may show Kentucky finally emerging from the recession of the last four years.
