Richards Against Social Worker Plan

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky House Speaker Jody Richards says he's going to ask state child welfare officials to rescind a controversial plan that would put more social workers in the field.
The change would be made possible by reassigning several managers and other workers.
The Bowling Green Democrat says the move would make the problem worse and not solve it.
Richards says the plan calls for getting more workers investigating child abuse and neglect without spending more money.
Eugene Foster of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services says he's pushing ahead with the plan.
