Robyn Williams Sworn In As Judge

By AP

Jamestown, KY – The wife of senator David Williams has been sworn in as a district judge in Russell County.
Robyn Williams will serve the 40th judicial district. She was sworn in Sunday in jamestown. Attorney Robyn Williams was the only applicant for the vacant district court judgeship in Russell, Clinton and Wayne Counties.
The vacancy was created when Judge D. Jeffrey Choate resigne dAugust 3rd. She'll make almost $105,000 per year.
While many Republican leaders have praised Williams' qualifications to be a judge, state Democratic party chairman Bill Garmer says the appointment is an example of "cronyism".
He said it seems that every appointment the Governor makes is somebody who is closely connected with him or his administration.
