Rogers Looks To Head Appropriations Committee

Washington, D.C. – Representative Hal Rogers has made his pitch to a Republican panel that will decide if he should become the next head of the powerful Appropriations committee.
Rogers made a presentation Monday to a group of about two dozen Republican house leaders who make up a panel that is scheduled to vote Wednesday on who whould take the reins of the committee
The other contenders are Ohio representative Ralph Regula and California representative Jerry Lewis.
Representative Bill Yoing of Florida is stepping down due to Republican rules limiting chairmanships to six years.
Regula is the most senior of the three members competing for the top job, followed by Lewis
