Rove Raises Thousands In Kentucky

By AP

Lexington, KY – The President's senior adviser has raised some $300,000 for the National republican party war chest during a stopover in Lexington.
Karl Rove spoke to about 40 Republican donors Monday at the central Kentucky residence of Kelly Knight. Rove is the highest ranking member of Bush's administration to visit Kentucky since Bush held a social security town hall meeting in Hopkinsville June 2nd.
Governor Fletcher declined an invitation to the Rove event. A spokesman for Fletcher said the Governor had a lot on his schedule and it was at a difficult time in the middle of the day.
