Sen. Bunning Receives More Police Protection

By AP

Louisville, KY – U.S. Senator Jim Bunning is enlisting plain-clothes Kentucky state police officers for security at various events he's attending.
KSP spokesman Brad Bates says two officers accompanied Bunning at a candidate forum Wednesday and at the traditional country ham breakfast Thursday at the state fair. Both Louisville events were sponsored by the Kentucky Farm Bureau.
Bates says he's unaware of any other member of congress from Kentucky recently asking for such security. Bunning's campaign manager David Young, says he won't comment on security issues.
Bunning's request for the security is being called a mis-use of tax dollars by the campaign of his Democratic opponent Daniel Mongiardo. He's a state senator from Hazard looking to keep Bunning from winning a second term
