Senator Karem Will Not Seek Re-election

By AP

Louisville, KY – State Senator David Karem, a Democrat from Louisville,
says he will not seek re-election when his term ends
next year. Speaking with reporters today, Karem said
he had hoped to leave the Senate "under his own
terms", and believes he will be able to accomplish that
goal.

Karem says his decision was not influenced by the
fact that Republicans now have control of the State
Senate. The Lawmaker from Louisville was first
elected to the State Senate in 1976.
