Severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings have been issued this morning for several counties in western and north central Kentucky. A fast moving storm system has entered the region, and some of the warnings issued earlier today have been canceled. However, the National Weather Service says this is a dangerous storm system. All but the easternmost counties of Kentucky have been cautioned about the possibility of tornadoes today. The initial warnings were issued in advance of a storm system blamed for one death in southwest Missouri. That storm also caused damage in the Ozark Mountains resort area town of Branson. A tornado watch is in effect across the region through the mid-day.
