Six Thousand Apply for GE Jobs in Less than One Hour

By Dan Modlin/AP

Bowling Green/Louisville – General Electric accepted six thousand job applications in about fifty minutes this morning in Louisville. The company had previously indicated it would only accept six thousand applicants, and that number was reached quickly after GE opened the process at 6:30 am. The company is adding 480 new positions in Louisville to work on a new refrigerator model and a hybrid water heater product. The positions are expected to start in February and will pay thirteen dollars per hour.
