Some Flooding From Heavy Rainfall

By AP

Louisville, KY – The excessive rainfall in Kentucky is generating some flood watches and warnings in northern and northeastern areas of the state.
A flood warning continues for the Ohio River at Owensboro, Paducah and elsewhere.
The Ohio River at Owensboro is pushing toward the 40 foot floodstage. The national weather service predicts a crest of 38.2 feet Saturday morning, which should cause minor flooding in low lying areas and bottom land.
At Newburgh Dam, the Ohio is expected to barely exceed the 38 foot stage by Thursday morning and crest just below 44 feet next Wednesday.
The upper gauge at Louisville's McApline Dam shows a depth of 16.8 feet where the flood stage is 23 feet. A crest of 21.9 feet is expected Saturday.
