Special Judge Named in Autry Case

By AP

Bowling Green, KY – Daviess County Circuit Judge Tom Castlen has
been appointed to preside over the murder trials
of Lucas Goodrum and Stephen Soules. They are
the two men charged in connection with the death
of Western Kentucky University student Katie Autry.

Chief Regional Judge Kelly Easton sent an order
appointing Castlen in Warren County Circuit Court.
The two Warren Circuit Judges, Steve Wilson and
John Grise, stepped away from hearing the cases
because of connections to the case before they
were sworn-in as judges.

Goodrum and Soules are expected to be tried
separately. Prosecutors in Warren County have
indicated that Soules is expected to face trial
first.
