Spinks Named Young ATHENA Winner

Assistant Warren County Attorney Jamie Spinks has been named the 2012 ATHENA Young Professional by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. 

The Chamber has presented the award locally since 2008 to emerging community leaders who demonstrate valuable service to their business or profession and to the community, exhibit initiative and creativity and who serve as role models for young women personally and professionally.

2008 ATHENA Award winner and  Warren County Attorney Amy Milliken nominated Spinks for the award. Spinks is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in political science. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. Since graduating in 2007, she has worked as an assistant county attorney in both Warren and Allen counties dealing with misdemeanors, traffic violations, child support enforcement and juvenile status offenders. 

Spinks is a Chamber partner and a member of the Scottsville-Allen County Chamber of Commerce. She's also a 2008 graduate of the Bowling Green Police Department Citizen's Police Academy. Other nominees for this year's ATHENA Young Professional Award were: Mandy Baker, United Way of Southern Kentucky; Olivia Kirn, BB&T; Mary Phoenix McCubbin, Countryside Play Structures/Landscape Structures and Sarah Rascoe, Daymar College. Previous winners include Jana Sublett (2008), Laura Goodman (2009), Kelly W. Wiseman (2010) and Nancy Mitchell (2011).
