Lexington, KY – Kentucky State Auditor Crit Luallen has successfully
undergone surgery this morning to remove a section
of her colon, which contained a tumor. According to
a news release from her office, a preliminary biopsy
indicates that the growth was benign.
Dr. John Stewart performed the surgery at St.Joseph's
Hospital in Lexington, and he anticipates a full recovery.
Ms. Luallen in expected to stay in the hospital the next
four to seven days.
The State Auditor currently plans to conduct official
business from her home, until she is fully
recovered.
