Frankfort, KY – Tompkinsville and Monroe County are on the receiving end of state grants. Governor Fletcher and the Office for Local Development have announced a grant of nearly $17,000 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund for the city.
The Monroe County sheriff's department is getting a nearly $2,000 body armor grant and Land and Water Conservation funds will be used for renovations to Tompkinsville city park.
Funding for the body armor program is derived from the sale of firearms that have been confiscated by state and local law enforcement agencies.
