State Police and DEA Support "Take Back Initiative"
The fourth national "Take Back"initiative is collecting unwanted prescription medications today at State Police Posts across Kentucky. The Kentucky State Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency are working together on the effort, which is designed to help reduce prescription abuse .
Collection activities will take place from 10:00am through 2:00pm at KSP posts in the bluegrass state. In past "Take Back" activities, the Kentucky State Police have collected over 1,000 pounds of prescription drugs. State Police Commissioner Rodney Brewer says the collection activities are free and anonymous. He stress, "no requests for identification will be made to anyone bringing medication to KSP posts."
