State Republican HQ Burglarized

By AP

Frankfort, Ky – Burglars broke into the state Republican headquarters Sunday night, vandalizing an office and stealing a computer server.
Party chairman John McCarthy says the burlary occurred between 8:00 and 9:30 Sunday night.
He says the thieves threw a chunk of concrete through a back window to gain access to the office which is located about five blocks from the state capitol.
The alarm system did not activate.
Police responding to public disturbance calls in the area discovered the break in.
McCarthy says the thieves opened a safe and a lockbox, stole some computer keypads and a server containing financial information about the estimated 37,000 party donors. He says most of the information on the server was already public record, but he says the server may have had a list of emails and phone numbers which were not public records.
McCarthy says the office was also burglarized six weeks ago. No suspects were ever caught. Frankfort police continue their investigation into the incident.
