Street Count Shows Louisville's Homeless

Louisville, KY – A federally ordered street count of Louisville's homeless shows that during a cold, two day period 95 people were sleeping on roads, in cars or under bridges. Some 1,900 other homeless men, women and children were able to find helter.
The Coalition For The Homeless count was for the night of January 17th and early January 18th. The report says that the count showed just over 2,100 homeless in Louisville as of last week.
The street count was ordered by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and conducted in cities across the country to gauge the number of chronically homeless.
