Students Competing for National Scholarships

The Office of Scholar Development at WKU is helping students compete for some major, national scholarships. Its a highly competitive field, but University officials say WKU students were awarded more than 500 thousand dollars from such scholarships last year.

Coordinator of Nationally Competitive Opportunities Cheryl-Kirby Stokes says the office can help students with some paperwork requirements, and can help to inform them about available scholarship programs. Since 2008 WKU students have won more Goldwater Scholarships and Honorable Mentions than any other university in the state of Kentucky.
