Talk Of New Law For Campus Investigations

By WKYU-FM

Louisville, KY – A lawmaker and a member of Katie Autry's family are calling for a lw directing who should investigate violent crimes on college campuses.
Lucas Goodrum was tried for murder in the Western Kentucky University student's rape and murder but was acquitted. State representative Rob Wilkey of Scottsville says he's working on a bill similar to Tennessee's law that requires local police to investigate suspicious deaths on campuses.
Virginia White, Autry's aunt, says a law requiring state or local city police to investigate her niece's death could have made a difference in the outcome of Goodrum's trial.
