Tennessee Couple Accused of Picking up South Central Kentucky Minor for Sex

Amanda McCarrell

A Tennessee couple is in jail, accused of picking up an underage girl in Kentucky for sex.  During a routine traffic stop Wednesday night, Nashville police discovered a 17-year-old girl sitting in the front seat of the car between Michael and Amanda McCarrell.

The couple allegedly drove from their home in Crossville, Tennessee to Glasow, Kentucky to pick up the teen.  When police questioned the couple, they admitted meeting the teen on an internet dating site.

According to a Nashville Police Department press release, officers searched Michael McCarrell's cell phone which revealed explicit text messages and pictures of the girl.  Amanda McCarrell admitted she knew the victim was 17 and intended to have sex with her.

Police contacted the teen's parents in Glasgow who had no idea she had been taken out of state.

The McCarrells are charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
