Knoxville, TN – U-S Senators Lamar Alexander and Bill Frist say
an Energy Bill compromise reached in Washington
contains a provision which will expand the TVA
board. The Tennessee lawmakers say the
board will change from three full-time members to
nine part-time members and a Chief Executive Officer.
The change outlined in the energy legislation would
mark a significant departure from past board
practices at TVA. The Knoxville-based agency was
founded in 1933.
