New Market, TN – Officials in Tennessee say three miners who had been trapped by smoke underground in a zinc mine have been rescued. The three men were helped out of the mine by a rescue team, after spending about three hours underground. The men reportedly appeared to be unharmed, but were taken to a hospital. Two other miners were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The incident occurred near New Market, in Jefferson County, Tennessee. Officials say a fire started on a drill rig today.
