Three Police Officers Wounded in Lexington Stand-off

By AP

Lexington, KY – Lexington Police Chief Anthany Beatty says two of his officers
and a Fayette County Sheriff's Deputy suffered minor injuries
in a stand-off with Lexington resident Mark Lunsford.

The 36 year old Lunsford was taken into custody after
negotiating with officers. He was taken to the University
of Kentucky Medical Center where he was treated for a
drug overdose.

Beatty says the standoff began after a Sheriff's Deputy was
flagged down to respond to "some type of disorder" at a
residence on Lexington's east side.

The law enforcement officers were treated for minor injuries
at an area hospital and released.
