Thunderstorms Knock out Power in Louisville Area
The National Weather Service says a line of storms that moved through the Louisville area this afternoon brought strong winds that knocked out power to about twelve thousand homes and businesses. Some homes were damaged, as well.
Tornado warnings were issued for Jefferson and Shelby Counties this afternoon, as strong storms moved through the region. The Associated Press says the National Weather Service is investigating whether a tornado touched down south of Louisville. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for several counties in northwestern Kentucky and southwestern Indiana.
Several homes in the Louisville area reportedly suffered damage to their roofs, but no injuries were initially reported.
