Transpark Breaks Ground Around Cave

By WKYU-FM

Bowling Green, KY – With state funding now in place, the Kentucky Transpark will break ground for it's new Technical Training Center in Warren County Friday afternoon...despite the discovery of an ancient cave on the Transpark property.
Governor Fletcher included more than
$7 million in his budget proposal for the 31,000 square foot center that will become part of the state's technical college sytem. It will include classrooms and labs to train workers for regional employers as well as for the transpark.
The newly discovered cave on the property has been sealed off to preserve prehistoric human bones and drawings carved into the cave's walls.
Teams from both Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky's Program for Archaeological Research documented the drawings and the bones before the cave was sealed off.
No state of federally listed species of cave life was found in the cave.
