The WKU mens' basketball team returned home to a raucous crowd at Bowling Green's Carrol Knicely center Wednesday afternoon after completing an improbable run to win the Sun Belt Conference championship Tuesday. More than 300 fans swarmed the team's bus as it pulled in and erupted in cheers as the players got off the bus holding the championship award.
Head coach Ray Harper climbed up on a ladder and told the crowd through a bullhorn that he couldn't be more proud of the team. "I had no doubt when we left Bowling Green that we were going to come back with the Sun Belt Conference championship." WKU will host a Selection Sunday party at 4:00 at Diddle Arena when the team will find out who their next opponent will be in the NCAA Tournament.
