Unemployment Rate Increases in Kentucky, as More Look for Work

Bowling Green,KY – State Officials say the jobless rate in Kentucky increased to 10.4 percent in the latest report on January employment. But Kim Saylor Brannock of the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet says the unemployment rate increased,in part, because more people were trying to find jobs. She says that could be an indication that more people believe the economy is starting to recover. The state actually added about four thousand jobs for the month.
