UPS Orders New Planes

Louisville, KY – Louisville based UPS Airlines is going to try to accomodate its international operations with the purchase of up to 20 airbus A-380 jumbo freighters.
The jets with three cargo decks will allow the company to carry more packages further
The A-380 is still under development in Europe. It will be the largest commercial aircraft in the world, carrying 330,000 pounds of cargo up to 5,600 nautical miles.
The size and weight of the Airbus might require changes at Louisville International Airport, such as strengthening runway shoulders, relocating lights or revising some opertaional procedures.
