Creative Commons

Four of Kentucky's five Republican U.S. House members were aboard a train that struck a garbage truck Wednesday in Virginia.

Representatives James Comer, Thomas Massie, Andy Barr, and Hal Rogers were on the train that was heading to a Republican retreat in West Virginia.

None report being injured.

Representative Brett Guthrie of Bowling Green was not on the train. A spokeswoman for Guthrie says he was planning to drive himself to the retreat.

NPR reports the Republican lawmakers were headed to the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia for a three-day strategy retreat focused on their policy agenda. They were scheduled to hear from Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday evening.
