Bowling Green, Kentucky – The United States Senate has passed a resolution honoring the Western Kentucky University football team for winning the NCAA Division 1-AA Football Championship. The resolution was sponsored by Senator Jim Bunning, and was approved unanimously on January 9th. The US House had passed a similar resolution, sponsored by Congressman Ron Lewis, earlier this week.
A celebration ceremony to recognize the National Champions will be held January 18 in Diddle Arena. University officials say the ceremony will start at 11:00 AM, central time, and will be free and open to the public.
