Warren County Joins List of Counties Seeking Disaster Relief

By AP/ Dan Modlin/Joe Corcoran

Bowling Green, KY – Warren County has joined the list of Kentucky
Counties filing for disaster relief as a result of
last week's storms and high winds. The county is
filing a 1.2 million dollar request after the storms
left 25 thousand homes without power and downed
numerous trees and power lines.

The request includes 94 thousand dollars for the
Richardsville Elementary School, to replace a roof
that was torn off. The request also includes 80 thousand
dollars for damage at the campus of Western Kentucky
University.

The utility companies that cover Warren county, Warren
R-E-C-C and Bowling Green Municipal Utilities, estimated
about 500 thousand dollars in expenses apiece.
