WKU Assistant Football Coach Resigns

By Dan Modlin

Bowling Green, KY – After working for eleven seasons on the staff of the Kent State football program, A.J Pratt joined the WKU coaching staff last year. Pratt has established a reputation as an outstanding recruiter, and has several former Kent State recruits on the rosters of NFL teams.

However, the former WKU Tackles and Tight Ends coach says he wants to be able to spend more time with his wife and children. In a statement released late Wednesday night, he said the opportunity for a new occupation was presented recently in the Allen County school system.

WKU Head Football Coach Willie Taggart thanked Pratt for his contributions to the WKU program, and said discussions have already started on a program plan to fill the coaching void. Taggart emphasized, "We are sorry to see A.J. leave our program, and this decision is entirely his." Pratt says he will continue to support WKU football from his home in Bowling Green.
