WKU Closes Out Regular Season With Dramatic Win

Quarterback Brandon Doughty found Willie McNeal in the end zone with 10 seconds remaining in the game lifting WKU to  a 34-31 win over Arkansas State Saturday at L.T. Smith Stadium.  It was the Hilltoppers fourth straight win as they finished the regular season with an 8-4 record and a 4-3 mark in conference play.

Doughty completed 21 of 37 passes for 255 yards in the game and three touchdowns.

"Wow. What a great win for us," said head coach Bobby Petrino. "I’m just really proud of our players. We stuck together and kept competing. We had a number of things that didn’t go our way and certainly could have cashed it in. It just a credit to our seniors"

Western Kentucky is bowl eligible and now awaits word on a possible bowl berth.
