WKU Guard Dies During Pickup Game

Bowling Green, KY – Western Kentucky University junior guard Danny Rumph has died. A WKU spokesman says he collapsed and died during a pickup game in his hometown of Philadelphia Sunday.
The 21 year old Rumph was visiting his family. WKU coack Darrin Horn received a call from Rumph's family early Monday morning.
Rumph started 29 of WKU's 31 games last season averaging nine points and three assists per game. He was honored at the team's postseason banquet for the second straight year as the team's Most Improved Player.
Rumph was the son of Viola Owens and Daniel Rumph, who live in Phildelphia. His father played at Hofstra and his uncle, Randy owens, played at Philadelphia Textile and was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in 1979.
