Bowling Green, KY – Universities are typically large consumers of power. That's one reason the energy-saving approach taken at WKU since March of 2010 is drawing attention. Officials from the Tennessee Valley Authority and Bowling Green Municipal Utilities say environmentally-friendly policies adopted at the University are saving dollars and energy. Tim Hughes of the TVA says his agency is rewarding those who use less energy, because its cheaper and more environmentally friendly to conserve power than to find additional sources of it.
