The woman accused of murdering an expectant mother and kidnapping her baby in Warren County last year will not stand trial.  Kathy Michelle Coy sobbed in court this morning as she changed her plea to guilty but mentally ill, and accepted a sentence of  life without parole.

Coy admitted to killing 21-year-old Jamie Stice and cutting her baby from her body.  Warren County Commonwealth's Attorney Chris Cohron says it's one of the top two most brutal cases he's ever prosecuted. "If she's not mentally ill, then God help us," Cohron said.

Jamie's Stice's baby boy survived the attack and is now a healthy 10-month-old.  Jamie's family packed the courtroom today, and while they wanted the death penalty, family members said they were relieved to not have to go through what would have been a lengthy and agonizing trial.  Final sentencing for Kathy Coy will be March 1st.
