Henderson Man Charged in Multiple Bank Robberies

A federal grand jury in Bowling Green charged 54-year-old James Allen Morris with six counts of bank robbery.

According to the federal indictment, Morris, by force, violence and intimidation robbed the Henderson County banks between July 23, 2010 and January 17, 2013. The banks include the Green River Credit Union on both January 17 and last July,  Independence Bank, the Bank of Henderson, U.S. Bank and Integra Bank.

Morris faces a sentence of 20 years in prison for each count and a $250,000 fine for each of the six counts. He'll be back in court February 28 for an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Owensboro.

Another Bank Robbery Hits Bowling Green

The man who robbed a Bowling Green bank Wednesday was captured on security cameras.

A lone bank robber held up the PBI Bank on Fairview Avenue just after 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Employees say the man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money. After the teller complied, the man left with an undisclosed amount of money on foot walking north into the neighborhood behind the bank.

He's described as a white male, 5'6" to 5'9", average build, wearing a long black overcoat, a dark colored pullover sweater, a white button-up collared shirt, black gloves and a black knit hats. Witnesses say he appeared unshaven.

One customer was present during the robbery. There were no injuries.

This is the third bank robbery in Bowling Green so far this year.

Second Bank Robbery Hits Bowling Green This Month

Bowling Green police are investigating after an unidentified man robbed Service One Credit Union on the 31-W Bypass in the city Friday afternoon and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the man waited in line behind at least one other customer. When he got to the teller window, he implied he had a gun, demanded money and walked out of the credit union with the cash just before 3 p.m.

He was last seen on foot running south on the bypass.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-40s, unshaven and wearing a gray pullover hooded sweatshirt, a blue knit cap and black sunglasses. Police say they do not have any suspects at this time.

This is the second bank robbery this month in Bowling Green. The First Security Bank on Chestnut Street was robbed January 3rd. No arrest has been made in that case.
