Just below Cherry Hall, one of WKU's grandest buildings, sits nearly 200,000 square feet of new student housing, built at a cost of $24 million. There is also a 30,000-square-foot, $10 million alumni center, and a 72,500-square-foot, $14.5 million Hyatt Place hotel scheduled to open in 2015. A pair of Iraqi nationals who pleaded guilty to conspiring to send weapons, cash and explosives to al-Qaida in Iraq will be sentenced together in January. U.S. District Judge Thomas B. Russell has delayed the sentencing of 30-year-old Waad Ramadan Alwan and co-defendant, 24-year-old Mohanad Shareef Hammadi from Dec. 5 to Jan. 3 in federal court in Bowling Green.
