WKU defeated the Army Black Knights 52-24 at L.T. Smith Stadium on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Before the game, the Golden Knights parachuted into the stadium; Dr. Gary Ransdell did a tandem jump with one of the Knights into the practice field with the game ball. Leon Allen carried the ball for 345 yards, breaking the single game record for WKU and Conference USA. WKU has one more home football game Saturday, November 22 at 11AM against University of Texas San Antonio.
Shelby Osborne, a Jeffersonville, Indiana native who played defensive back for her high school football team, has signed on to play NAIA collegiate football this fall.
Osborne committed this week to play football at Campbellsville University in Taylor County. It’s believed she’ll be the first female to play on the defensive side of the ball at the college level since mid-1990s when Joyce Muntari played linebacker for two junior colleges.
WKU's Athletic Director says a proposed four-team playoff model for college football would be a good move for the game. Todd Stewart tells WKU Public Radio a BCS presidential oversight committee will likely act on the proposal at a meeting next Tuesday.
