Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson said that the counting of ballots in certain parts of Kentucky may be delayed due to problems with voting machines.

Grayson said that Kenton County in northern Kentucky had to take some voting machines offline and replace them with older machines. The newer ones were not properly recording straight party votes for either party, according to Grayson.

Louisville, KY – What started as an uphill battle by a Louisville businessman to unseat one of the highest-ranking Senators in Washington has turned into the state's most-watched race. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is trying to fend off a challenge from Democrat Bruce Lunsford. Kentucky Public Radio's Gabe Bullard has more from partner-station WFPL in Louisville.

Lexington, KY – The campaign of the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, Bruce Lunsford, says the actress and human rights activist Ashely Judd has lent her voice to a recorded appeal on behalf of Lunsford and the Kentucky Democratic Party.

The calls are part of the Democratic Get Out The Vote operation.

Judd is scheduled to speak at a Lunsford rally Saturday afternoon in Louisville.

Lunsford is attempting to unseat 4 four-term incumbent Republican Mitch McConnell.
