WWII Purple Heart Medal Mailed to Ft. Campbell

A Purple Heart medal given to a former officer assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in World War II is being returned to Fort Campbell, Ky. The medal was mailed to the U.S. Embassy in London without a return address in July, according to the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

Ft. Campbell Soldier Facing Terrorism Charges to Serve as Own Lawyer

An AWOL Ft. Campbell soldier convicted of planning to blow up a restaurant full of Texas soldiers will represent himself when he’s sentenced next month. Army Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo told U.S. District Judge Walter Smith during a Thursday hearing in Waco, Texas, that he and his attorneys weren’t communicating effectively.
